Autobiography/Biography

Old Herbaceous by Reginald Arkell

A sweet old book written in 1951. It is the tale of an orphan who is saved by a family in a small England town around WWI. Not acceptable by the military the shy boy starts his service under the gardener of a large estate. He eventually discovers that gardening is his passion. When the head gardener passes on the new” Mistress” of the estate places him as the replacement. It is a gentle easy flowing story.
