Hiking Naked: A Quaker Woman’s Search for Balance by Iris Graville

Choosing to take a break from her career as a public health nurse, Iris quits her job and convinces her husband and twin children to move to Stehekin. She shares the adventures, challenges and heartbreaks they experienced over the two years they lived in this remote mountain village, here in our North Cascades. Mixed in with the stories of their experiences, Iris calls into question her purpose and the desire to follow her calling, taking time amongst the solitude to write. Following their time in Stehekin, they moved to Lopez Island! I thoroughly enjoyed reading and following along on Iris’s journey as she navigated her way toward a new career path as a writer. In addition, the NW setting made this story even more meaningful.
