The husband has written a confession to an act he regrets in the form of a letter to his wife. He sealed it in an envelope with a note that it shouldn’t be opened until after his death, and hid it away where she wouldn’t find it. Except she did find it. His feverish requests for her not to read it make it imperative that she does, and now she has, and now there are too many things that too many people can’t un-know. As the book’s author Liane Moriarty notes, “Some secrets are meant to stay secret forever. Just ask Pandora.” A good summer read.
